ALL22 CFL POSITIONAL SCOUTING COURSE

 

GOAL: To gain a better understanding of the nuances in expected performance of all positions at various levels of global professional football with a specific focus on the Canadian Football League.

 

STANDARDS: Player evaluation standards for global scouting purposes are contrasted to those used in the National Football League. We will then discuss and establish modified standards for International play and specifically the Canadian Football League.

 

OUTCOMES: Those who successfully complete this course will be able to:

  • Understand differences in traits desired for play in the Canadian Football League
  • Ability to watch collegiate, NFL and CFL film and describe performance within the context of desired performance standards
  • Ability to articulate in writing the performance attributes of prospects within the context of CFL standards

 

SCHEDULE & FORMAT: The class will be taught live using the Scouting Academy platform and will also be recorded.

Live classes will be held from 10:00AM to Noon EST on the following Saturdays: September 18, 25; October 9, 23; November 20; December 4, 11, 18.

 

INSTRUCTOR: The primary instructor for this course is Josh Washburn. Josh played collegiately at the University of North Carolina & is currently entering his 9th season in professional scouting. He has spent time with the Tennessee Titans, the Washington Football Team, & the Ottawa RedBlacks before taking on a personnel role with the USFL.
